Join TAPPA for our November Social on Friday, November 13, at Rick’s on the River in Tampa.

This casual evening gathering brings TAPPA members together at one of Tampa’s classic waterfront spots, set along the Hillsborough River where the city’s history, working waterfront, old stories, and modern Tampa energy all seem to meet. Rick’s on the River has the kind of relaxed, unmistakably local atmosphere that makes it a perfect place to gather outside of our regular meeting format.

The Hillsborough River has carried generations of Tampa stories through its winding path — from early settlements and cigar-era commerce to fishing boats, riverfront landmarks, downtown growth, and countless evenings spent watching the water move under the fading light. Like many old waterways, the river has its share of folklore: tales of mysterious currents, dockside legends, old Tampa characters, hidden histories, and stories passed from one generation to the next over a drink, a meal, or a long night by the water.

On this Friday the 13th evening, we will gather where the river bends, the boats pass by, and the lights reflect across the water. It is the perfect setting for a TAPPA social with just the right mix of Tampa character, waterfront charm, and maybe even a little river mystery.

Members are invited to come relax, connect, and enjoy good conversation with fellow photographers, videographers, and creative professionals. Whether you are catching up with longtime TAPPA friends, meeting newer members, or simply enjoying an evening along the river, this social is about community, connection, and taking time to enjoy one another outside the pace of business and regular meetings.

Rick’s offers a laid-back Tampa waterfront feel, outdoor seating, river views, music, food, drinks, and the kind of atmosphere that reminds you why Tampa’s riverfront has always been a place where people gather, tell stories, and make memories.
