Join fellow TAPPA members for a fun and casual photography get-together at Tampa International Airport for an evening of plane spotting, aviation photography, and creative image-making.
We’ll meet on the top level of the Short Term Parking Garage, which offers a great vantage point for photographing aircraft arrivals, departures, airport activity, evening light, and the unique energy of one of Florida’s busiest airports.
About This Event
This is a relaxed, members-only opportunity to practice photographing fast-moving subjects in a real-world environment. Members can work on:
Timing
Panning techniques
Long-lens photography
Exposure control
Composition
Capturing motion and evening light
Whether you are experienced with aviation photography or simply want to try something different, this will be a great chance to learn, shoot, share ideas, and spend time with other TAPPA members.

Date: Thursday, July 23
Time: Approximately 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Location: Top level of the Short Term Parking Garage at Tampa International Airport
Cost: No TAPPA event fee
Parking: Attendees are responsible for any airport parking fees. The first hour of parking is typically free at the airport.

The exact meeting time may be adjusted slightly as we get closer to the event depending on airline schedules, aircraft activity, sunset timing, and the best photography opportunities.
Recommended Gear
Camera body
Telephoto lens such as a 70-200mm, 100-400mm, or similar
Wide-angle lens for airport and environmental shots
Extra batteries and memory cards
Comfortable shoes
Water
Sun protection if needed

This event is open to current TAPPA members only.
Come ready to photograph, learn, share ideas, and enjoy an evening of aviation photography with the TAPPA community.
